Membership on the Student Union Board
Adopted Summer, 2005
The Student Union Board shall serve in an advisory capacity during the transition into the new student union. The board will provide the Director of the Student Union and the Director of Student Activities with insights regarding the needs and concerns of the students with respect to the student union and its impact on student life. The board may also function as a conduit through which administration can communicate with students. Upon completion of the transition, the board may continue its role as deemed necessary. Membership
The SUB is chaired by the Director of Student Activities, who is an ex-officio, nonvoting member. Other members include the following:
- One (1) commuter student representative appointed by the Student Government Association.
- One (1) representative from Residence Hall Association appointed by the executive board of RHA.
- The chair of Inter Club Association or his/her designee
- One (1) representative each from Panhellenic Council, Pan-Hellenic Council and Inter Fraternity Council, appointed by the respective executive boards.
- Two (2) students representing diverse or special campus interests, appointed by ICA .
- One (1) student representing CAB, appointed by its executive board.
- Two (2) faculty appointed by the Faculty Senate, one from College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and one from School of Business .
- The Director of Student Activities– ex-offico member.
Student Membership
- Must be a full-time student.
- Must be in good standing, academically and judicially, with the University.
Terms of Office
- All students shall serve for the duration of the board or for a period of one year, which ever is shorter.
- Faculty may be asked to serve for a minimum of two years
- The Directors shall be permanent members.
