Parking during Setting Sail
The
parking location for Setting Sail will be in Parking Lot I, L or M.
Setting
Sail Check-In Time
Check in will
begin at 8 a.m. in the David Student Union for students and parents/guests. The program begins
promptly at 9 a.m. in the Ferguson
Center for the Arts.
Dining Services
Lunch
and dinner on Day One are provided for students and
registered parents/guests. Desserts and coffee are also available in the
evening of Day One during the Parent Social. Breakfast is provided for
students and registered parents/guests on Day Two.
Student Accommodations &
Luggage
Students
are required
to stay overnight in the residence hall during Setting
Sail. Students should bring their luggage when they check in
the
morning of Day One.
If
you need to arrive the day before your Setting
Sail date, please indicate your request for early arrival
accommodations on the Setting
Sail reservation form.
Early arrival accommodations are available for students and their
guests. Early arrival
check-in
time is 4-midnight in the lobby of York
River West.
There is an additional fee of $18 per guest/student for early arrival accommodations.
Please be sure to indicate your need for early arrival when making your
Setting Sail reservation.
Parent/Guest Accommodations
Parents,
guardians, and guests are welcome to stay in an on-campus residence
hall separate from their student. Parents will check in with their
students at the David Student Union and then take their luggage to Potomac
River Hall. On campus housing arrangements must be
made
when making your Setting Sail reservation.
Parents, guardians, and guests may make their own hotel
arrangements if they chose not to stay on campus. Please
consult
the Parent/Guest Accommodations section of your confirmation packet for hotel information.
Helpful Hint
If
you plan to attend the same Setting Sail with a friend, submit your on-line reservations
as close to the same time as possible. We cannot guarantee dates prior to receiving your completed
reservation.
Disability Services
Students,
parents, guardians or guests with special needs who desire interpreters
and/or other accommodations must contact the Office of Disability
Services at (757) 594-8763 at least two weeks prior
to their scheduled Setting Sail date.
Wheelchairs are not available for use. Students
and parents/guests needing a wheelchair must provide their own.
President’s Leadership
Program
Students enrolled in the President's
Leadership Program should make every effort to attend the first or third session of Setting Sail
to coincide with the Leadership Adventure. For more detailed
information, you are encouraged to contact the PLP
office at 757-594-7207.
