Christopher Newport University presents our Setting Sail/Welcome Week orientation programs!

Setting Sail 2009
Setting Sail (required for all first year students) is a two-day, overnight program that exposes students to life at CNU – both inside and outside the classroom. While on campus in June, students will be able to stay overnight in a residence hall, register for classes, pick up their student ID, meet other CNU students and much, much more! Each student MUST attend one of the four sessions and parents and guests are highly encouraged to attend.

Welcome Week: University Academic Orientation
CNU sponsors Welcome Week: University Academic Orientation, As the second part of the required orientation program. This five day program includes activities specifically designed to help students successfully begin their first year successfully.

Changing Tides: Transfer Student Orientation
Held in January and July, Changing Tides is an orientation program designed specifically with the needs of transfer students in mind. Whether you are transferring from a two-year or four-year college or university, we are sure you will find information essential to making your CNU experience a success. Here you will have the opportunity to learn about the things that make our campus unique, as well as meet other students just like yourself who are not necessarily first year students but are coming to CNU for the first time.

President's Leadership Program

• If you registered for Session 1 of Setting Sail (June 18-19), your attendance at Leadership Adventure is confirmed for June 19-22.

• If you registered for Session 2 of Setting Sail (June 22-23), your attendance at Leadership Adventure is confirmed for June 23-26.

• If you registered for Session 3 of Setting Sail (June 25-26), your attendance at Leadership Adventure is confirmed for June 26-29.

If you did not register for Session 1, 2, or 3 of Setting Sail, please call the President’s Leadership Program at 757-594-7207 or email preslead@cnu.edu in order to alert us of your desired alternate plan.

You will receive a confirmation card and a follow up email with important information regarding Leadership Adventure following your registration with Setting Sail.
