RECRUITMENT

Recruitment is a time for second semester freshmen and upperclassmen to investigate the Greek community. It is a great way not only to learn about the opportunities that are available in Greek Life but also to make new friends. The IFC, Panhellenic, and NPHC groups do things a little differently but the recruitment process is merely organized events that allow chapters to meet prospective members.
What To Expect:
In the fall semester, all CNU students are invited to attend the various events hosted on-campus by fraternity and sorority chapters. This could range from an interest meeting to a cookout, a volleyball tournament to a philanthropy event. You may also casually meet a member of a fraternity or sorority in class or at the gym and begin to learn more about that person's organization through normal conversation. While freshmen students cannot join a fraternity or sorority until they have achieved 12 credit hours and a minimum of a 2.4 cumulative GPA after high school, they can still investigate and get to know what each group is about. A limited number of students with the minimum academic requirements may be offered membership in the fall semester. The sororities in particular are limited on the number of spots available in the fall so please do not be discouraged if you do not get an opportunity to join in the fall term.
The spring term is quite different than the fall due to more eligible students on campus and a more formalized process for joining.
Panhellenic Council organizes sorority formal recruitment. All CNU women who are interested in joining an NPC sorority need to register prior to the deadline (Monday, January 28, 2008). Formal recruitment is very time- intensive for both the chapters and the women going through the process. The Panhellenic Formal Recruitment Schedule is as follows:(all events take place in the David Student Union Ballroom

NPHC Intake involves a series of interest meetings to assist potential members as they explore what NPHC organizations have to offer and learn how they can grow as a member of these organizations. Interest meetings can happen at any point in the academic year; however, intake typically begins at the start of each term.
If you would like to learn more about how becoming involved in a fraternity or sorority can benefit you not just in college, but for the rest of your life, please check out recruitment at CNU! Feel free to contact the Office of Student Activities at any time and we will make sure the appropriate council or chapter contacts you.
